Meadowsweet also has a history within Welsh lore, where it was noted as one of the herbs used to fashion the woman known as "Flowerface." It was also quite commonly used to strew across floors, and was one of the favored such flowers of Queen Elizabeth. Herbalists traditionally know Meadowsweet as a remedy for an acidic stomach as well as a treatment for diarrhea. It has also shown itself to be useful in treating aches and pains of the joints and muscles, as well as easing of headaches.
